Angel Garcia -
Primary Ballet Instructor
Angel Garcia has had a passion for dance ever since she could remember. She started practicing in musical theater at a very young age at Hoover Elementary and Middle School for the Performing Arts. Ms. Garcia was part of the drama club and dance club, and eventually learned to choreograph her own works. When financial inequality separated her from her desire to dance ballet, she joined a Latin ballroom dance club so that she might fulfil her passion for dance. Ms. Garcia trained in Salsa, Cha-cha, Merengue, and Hustle. After high school, she realized her ability to help others learn, and became passionate about teaching. She earned an associate degree in Social and Behavioral Science, while studying mathematics and worked as a tutor for students with learning disabilities. She went on to study performance art in the Creative Arts program at San Jose State University with hopes of becoming an arts teacher in public education. Ms. Garcia pursued many opportunities in performances while in college and trained vigorously in all areas of dance in private studios with a special attention to ballet training in the Russian method with Master instructors Gloria Moor and Michelle D’Alo with Ballet San Jose. After suffering a shin splint shortly before graduating with my BA, she took the necessary time off to heal, and began pursuing her other dream of becoming a registered nurse. Her desire is to teach dance young children for as long as her feet will let her.
